Peacocks...or chickens?

While we were in St. Augustine, we visited the Fountain of Youth.  The highlight for Johnny was clearly that this attraction has free-roaming peacocks.  He loved them.  You could buy peanuts to feed them, and John had a blast chasing them and feeding them.  As you will see in the video below, though, he could not get past the thought that they were large chickens.  My video stops rather abruptly, because that peacock looked like it was about to peck at John's head.

More St. Augustine Pics...

We really had the best time on our vacation.  The weather was gorgeous.  I really hope Maryland warms up soon ( it will be 60 on Thursday-  supposedly).  I am done with winter! Below are some pics of the fishing pier at St. Augustine beach and the playground right next to it, where John had a blast!

St. Augustine Day 4

Tuesday marked day 4 of our vacation.  We visited Marineland to see the dolphins.  We got to see a mini-dolphin show which was awesome.  Marineland is right on the ocean, so afterwards we walked along the beach and explored the tide pools.

The baby dolphin came right up to the glass.  He seemed to like John.  Will said to him," The baby likes you.  He's saying 'hi'!"  So Johnny said, "Hi, baby!"  It was very cute.

St. Augustine Day 3

On Monday we took a very fun outing to the St. Augustine Lighthouse.  John loved the "Big Tower" as he called it.  Unfortunately, he wasn't tall enough to climb to the top, though.  Maybe in a few more years.  After nap, we went to the library to get some more books and then visited the playground.  John got to play and ride the merry-go-round with Daddy. =)

Oh, yes, your eyes do not deceive you.  Those are in fact men replacing the windows at the top of the lighthouse.  I got dizzy just looking up at them.  You couldn't pay me enough to hang me from the top of a lighthouse!
