John's first movie!

Yesterday, Will and I took John to see his very first movie: Bolt.  He really seemed to enjoy the movie because its main character was a dog.  Did he enjoy the 3D glasses he was supposed to wear?  Not so much.  About halfway through the movie, we had to leave the theater once, because he couldn't sit still anymore.  He proceeded to throw a fit in the hallway, but then got himself together and we were able to go back inside and finish watching the movie.  Maybe he was annoyed because the movie was slightly blurry at times, because he absolutely refused to wear the glasses?  Overall, I'd say it was a success.  I'm looking forward to many more trips to the movies with our little boy.

Dave and Christa Tie the Knot

Since I just started blogging, I figured this event deserved a post even if it did take place 1.5 months ago.  On October 11th, we had the privilege to attend the wedding of our good friends, Dave and Christa.  I can't remember exactly how long these two were together prior to tying the knot, but I do know it's been at least 5.5 years, since Christa was Dave's date to our wedding in 2003.  Needless to say, we were very excited to finally see them make it official in front of family and friends.  The wedding took place at the beautiful Chesapeake Beach Resort in Chesapeake Beach, MD.  What a beautiful backdrop for a wedding.  Congratulations, you two!

The Museum of American History: Grand Reopening!

On November 22, we had the opportunity to visit the Museum of American History for its grand reopening. This was John's first trip to a museum. We only ended up staying for about 1.5 hours because we got there late (grrrr...nap time) but we had a fantastic time. John really enjoyed the vintage car and train exhibits. The highlight for me was seeing Dorothy's ruby slippers. This was for John the first of many trips to the National Mall. We are so fortunate to have such a plethora of cultural experiences nearby.

Our Trip to Play Wise Kids

This past Wednesday, we went on our first trip to Play Wise Kids in Columbia. I have to say that we had a GREAT time! John really enjoyed all the different exhibits and play equipment. The highlights for him were probably the tractor and firetrucks that he could climb on, as well as the indoor "beach" complete with a rowboat. =) If you're located near Columbia, MD, it's worth a trip! http://www.playwisekids.com
